Due to their relatively enclosed space and high vehicle density, the integration of fire protection and safety technologies is crucial for automated parking garages.

In terms of fire protection technology, the design of the fire detection system is paramount. Automated parking garages are equipped with various types of fire detectors, including smoke detectors, temperature detectors, and flame detectors. Smoke detectors can sensitively detect the generation of smoke in the early stages of a fire; temperature detectors monitor temperature changes in the garage in real-time, triggering an alarm if the temperature exceeds a set threshold. Flame detectors are used to quickly detect open flames, allowing for timely fire suppression measures. These detectors work together to form a comprehensive fire detection network, ensuring that fires are detected and alarms are triggered immediately upon occurrence.

The fire suppression system is also a key aspect of fire protection in automated parking garages. Common fire suppression systems include automatic sprinkler systems, carbon dioxide systems, and foam systems. Automatic sprinkler systems are suitable for general fires; when a fire occurs, the sprinklers automatically spray water to extinguish the fire through cooling and suffocation. Carbon dioxide systems are often used in areas of automated parking garages with numerous electrical devices; carbon dioxide gas quickly displaces air, reducing oxygen concentration to extinguish the fire without damaging electrical equipment. Foam systems are effective in extinguishing oil fires; the foam covers the burning material, cutting off air and preventing combustion.

In terms of safety protection technology, automated parking garages have multiple protective measures to ensure the safety of vehicles and personnel. Anti-fall devices are installed on the car carriers or cabs; if a malfunction in the lifting equipment causes a car carrier or cab to fall, the anti-fall device will immediately activate, using mechanical braking or a buffer device to prevent the vehicle from directly falling to the ground, minimizing losses. In addition, the garage is equipped with an emergency braking system; if an abnormality occurs during the lifting or horizontal movement of a vehicle, such as speeding or collision, the emergency braking system will quickly stop the equipment to prevent the accident from escalating.

To prevent vehicle theft or damage within the garage, automated parking garages are equipped with a comprehensive monitoring system. High-definition cameras cover the entire garage, recording the parking and movement of vehicles in real-time and connecting to the alarm system. If suspicious personnel or abnormal vehicle behavior is detected, the system will immediately issue an alarm.
